"It's a beautiful day, but..."
How often is it that these "beautiful days" cannot be
enjoyed because of an allergic reaction to something that is harmless
to most people? An allergy is really a defense mechanism of your
body sending out an army to defend against an attacking toxic substance,
Your body reacts with tears to wash your eyes, with sneezes to clear
your nasal passages, and with constriction of the lungs to avoid
inhaling the "poison". And all the time it isnt toxicity,
it is just that you are suffering from a malfunctioning body. If
it was really toxic, everyone would be experiencing your reaction.
But why is your body malfunctioning> Remember,
all parts of the body are controlled by the brain. The brain sends
its messages to the eyes, nose and lungs through the spinal cord.
These nerves pass between the vertabrae and continue to branch until
they serve every part of the body. Where the nerves pass between
the vertabrae it is a small opening., a notch, that is just the
right size and shape. Unfortunately that size and shape can change
if a vertabra is missaligned. Reducing the size and shape of the
opening can cause pressure on the erve root with a subsequent reduction
in the ability of the nerve to carry messages. When the communication
system is impaired there is every expectation that the area served
by that impaired nerve will malfunction also.
The purpose of Chiropractic care is to reduce
nerve pressure. With the reduction of nerve pressure we generally
find a restoration of the ability of the nerve to carry messages
and now we have a correctly functioning organ that had previously
malfunctioned.
Do food and skin allergies work the same
way? Yes, they do. Staying away from chocolate, eggs, wheat, or
strawberries because of an allergy is really avoiding them because
of a malfunction nervouse system.
What is your alternative? Well, you can "learn
to live with it", thake shots to reduce the symptoms, use the
five most dangerous words (MAYBE IT WILL GO AWAY), or investigate
whether Chiropractic may have a solution to your allergies.
